1. Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it needs no email exchange with us:
- Open AerVPN.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, then confirm with Delete permanently.
Your account and the records listed below are erased from our servers straight away. You do not need to be on a paid plan, and you do not need to have signed in with Apple or Google — the option is always there.
2. Delete by email
If you have already uninstalled the app, or you cannot open it, write to support@1aer.co from the email address you signed in with, and ask us to delete your account.
If you never signed in with Apple or Google, your account is tied only to a random device identifier that lives inside the app, and we have no way to link it to you from an email alone. In that case, deleting the app data (or uninstalling the app) removes your side of it, and everything on our side is erased automatically after 24 months with no connection. See our Privacy Policy for the full table.
We answer deletion requests within 30 days, and normally much sooner.
3. What is deleted
When your account is deleted we erase, permanently:
- your sign-in identity — the provider (Apple or Google), the identifier they gave us, and your email address;
- your device records and device tokens;
- your plan and quota records;
- your Advanced Protection settings and the blocked-request counters attached to your device;
- your Split Tunneling entries;
- your Dedicated IP assignment, if you had one.
Any VPN session still running is closed and the corresponding key is removed from the node.
4. What is left afterwards
Your session history and your daily usage totals go with the account, in the same operation — they are not held back for a retention period. So do your protection settings, your blocked-request counters, your Split Tunneling list and your subscription records.
Two traces remain, and neither identifies you:
- One line in our operations log, recording that an account was deleted and how many devices it covered, together with the first 8 characters of a device identifier. The device record itself is gone by then, so that fragment resolves to nothing. The log is pruned automatically after 90 days.
- A Dedicated IP address, if you had one, goes back into our pool to be reused. The address stays; the link between it and you is erased.
We keep no browsing history, no DNS query logs and no record of what you connected to, so there is nothing of that kind to delete. Payment records held by Apple or Google are theirs, not ours — we never see your card details, and their own retention rules apply.
The 30-day and 90-day windows described in our Privacy Policy are something else: they are how long session records and usage totals survive while your account still exists. They expire on their own even if you never delete anything.
5. Deleting some data without deleting your account
If you want to keep your account but erase particular data, you can do all of this yourself, in the app, with no request to us:
- Split Tunneling entries — Profile → Split Tunneling → swipe an IP away, or turn the whole feature off. The list on our side is overwritten the moment you save.
- Advanced Protection settings — Add-ons → Advanced Protection → switch layers off. Turning all four off also stops any new blocked-request counting.
- Dedicated IP — write to us and we release it back to the pool.
- Everything stored on the phone (device token, protection counters cached locally, your "time protected" chart) — Android: Settings → Apps → AerVPN → Storage → Clear storage. iOS: delete the app. This does not touch what is on our servers.
For anything else — including asking us to erase your session records before their normal 30-day expiry — write to support@1aer.co and tell us what you want removed. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK, this is your right to erasure under the GDPR, and it costs you nothing.
6. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription
Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us, so we cannot cancel them for you. Cancel first, then delete:
- Android: Play Store → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → AerVPN → Cancel.
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → AerVPN → Cancel.
If you delete your account while a subscription is still active, it keeps renewing and charging you until you cancel it in the store.
